World Cup Historical Overview

Historical FIFA World Cup data exists only as scattered tables and records, making comparisons between tournaments and teams slow and difficult. This project brings that history together in one interactive Power BI dashboard so users can explore tournaments and compare team performance across editions.

The project involved collecting and preparing historical World Cup data, transforming it in Power Query, and building a structured data model in Power BI. I developed DAX measures to calculate tournament-level and team-level metrics, then designed visualizations to show goals and scoring trends, match results, team performance over time, and historical comparisons across tournaments.

The dashboard below provides a historical overview of FIFA World Cup tournaments, including tournament results, goals, team performance, and host nations.

The dashboard supports exploration of long-term patterns in World Cup history. Users can compare tournament editions, examine how team performance has changed over time, and explore match-level statistics and scoring trends. The visualizations make it possible to identify historically successful teams and understand how different tournaments compare.

This project demonstrates practical experience in Power BI, historical data analysis, data modeling, DAX, KPI development, and interactive visualization.
